Germany's Lurgi has received a letter of intent for the main contract. A formal signing of the contract is expected soon. Saudi Aramco is providing gas feedstock for the CO unit.

Three international contractors are understood to have submitted commercial bids for the LSTK contract. They are Germany's Linde, Lurgi and Oslo-based Aker Kvaerner. Evaluation of bids is currently underway.

The client has again extended the deadline for submission of commercial bids for the LSTK contract, following an upward revision to the scope of work.

Commercial bids for the LSTK contract are now due by late November 2005, with an award due by the end of this year.

Commercial bids for the LSTK contract due to be submitted in November 2005, with an award expected by the end of 2005. Local S A Kent is the front-end engineering and design (FEED) contractor.

This project is in Jubail. It is being implemented in joint venture with local National Power Company (NPC). This CO plant will feed a 460,000-t/y acetic acid plant at the Jubail site. Three international companies have submitted technical bids for the LSTK contract. They are Oslo-based Aker KvaernerLurgi and Linde. Bids are currently under evaluation. Clarification meetings are being held with the bidders, with a contract award expected in the third quarter of 2005. US' Foster Wheeler is the project management consultant (PMC).

China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Ltd. has been awarded the main contract to carry out this scheme. The contract involves construction and twelve months maintenance of the three towers. The project is expected to be complete in about (28) months' time.

Ten local companies and three international companies have submitted bids for the main contract on this project. The client is currently in the process of evaluating bids. A contract award is expected soon. Construction works are due to commence in the first quarter of 2005.

This project calls for the construction of Armada Towers - 1, 2 and 3. It will be located on Plot No. P1, P2, P3 at Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT) development, between interchanges 4 and 5 on Shaikh Zayed highway. The project will occupy a space of 2 million-square-feet. Towers 1 and 3 will be 35 storeys each, while Tower 2 will be 40 storeys. The towers will have 18,500-square-feet of external and 13,000-square-feet of internal retail space, and also house twelve luxurious penthouses, four in each tower. The client expects to issue tenders for the main construction package by November 2004. Abu Dhabi-based APCC has recently been appointed to carry out piling works on this project. The contract is worth $3 million. Land excavations, dust and soil shifting, and the entire piling procedure is expected to take no more than four months. APCC is due to commence on-site works soon, with completion scheduled for January 2005. Local Adnan Safarini is the consultant.

Japan's JGC Corporation has been awarded the first package on this scheme, which is worth an estimated $1,000 million and covers construction of a 3,800 million cf/d NGL plant. Italy's Snamprogetti has been awarded package 2 on the NGL plant, which is worth about $800 million and covers gas treatment and compression facilities.

Italy's Snamprogetti is understood to be the low bidder for the package covering gas treatment and compression facilities at the Hawiyah NGL plant. The company's offer for the LSTK contract is understood to be just below $1,000 million. Japan's JGC Corporation and Paris-based Technip are understood to be the main competitors on the second package, covering the NGL and associated facilities. The value is estimated to be $1,000 million. A contract award is expected in March 2005.

The four international companies preparing to bid for the LSTK contract have been given an additional two weeks to submit their bids from the previous deadline of January 15, 2005.

Four international companies are preparing to submit bids for the LSTK contract. The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firms are US-based Bechtel, Japan's JGC Corporation, Italy's Snamprogetti, and Paris-based Technip. All four bidders are expected to bid for the project's two packages, covering gas treatment, and compression and NGL facilities.

This project is at Hawiyah. It is part of Saudi Aramco's estimated $1,700 million Hawiyah natural gas liquids (NGL) recovery programme. The scheme is being tendered in two packages, covering two gas treating trains and three NGL recovery trains. The plant will recover about 310 million barrels of oil equivalent a day of ethane and NGL from about 3,800 cf/d of gas produced at the Haradh and Hawiyah gas plants. The residue will be pumped into the master gas system (MGS). The client has released invitation to bid (ITB) documents to international contractors. Among the companies understood to be planning to bid for the EPC contract are US' Bechtel, Fluor Daniel, Japan's JGC Corporation, Italy's Snamprogetti, and Paris-based Technip. US' Jacobs Engineering has been awarded the contract to provide project management consultancy (PMC) services on the programme.
