Project / Tender - Complete Information

This project involves construction of Saadiyat Rotana Resort on Plot No. C3, Sector SDN1 at Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi. Client has invited contractors to express their interest to build this scheme. Project completion is expected in 2015. Client Contact: Mr. James McCombe (Project Manager). 

Construction work has been completed on this scheme. 

Internal finishing for the resort and villas are ongoing along with landscaping, swimming pool and external finishing works. The project will be completed by end of December 2017. 

Interior works are underway.

Enabling works are currently underway. The main contractor has not yet mobilized on site. The MEP contract is expected to be awarded in November 2014. 

It is understood that the MEP contract is expected to be awarded by end of September 2014. Construction is expected to commence in October 2014. 

Local Ali & Sons Contracting Company has been awarded the main construction contract on this project. Value of the contract is estimated to be $121 million. The MEP contract is yet to be awarded. 

Evaluation of bids is still underway for the main construction contract. An award is expected in August 2014. 

Pre-qualified bidders for the main construction contract include MAN Enterprises; Ghantoot Transport & General Contracting Establishment, in joint venture with Murray & Roberts Contractors; local Al Jaber Transport & General Contracting, Al Faraa General Contracting, Ali & Sons Contracting and Al Habtoor Engineering Enterprises. It is understood that MAN Enterprises is the lowest bidder. The client will negotiate with the winning bidder to reach a final agreement and an award is expected on July 01, 2014. The winner will deliver the contract in phases over a two-year period. Bidders for the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) contract include Emirates Trading Agency, Drake & Scull International and Thermo Electro-Mechanical. The first phase, which includes only enabling work, is expected to be complete by fourth quarter of 2014. The second phase includes a ground floor and four additional floors with (340) rooms, as well as (13) beach villas. Construction of the hotel will commence by August 2014 and is expected to be completed by first quarter of 2016. 

UK's Faithful & Gould has been awarded a contract to provide pre- and post-contract cost consultancy services for this project. 

It is understood that bids are currently under evaluation for the main construction contract. An award is expected in May 2014. 

Initial bids have been submitted for the main construction package on this project. Bidders include Local Al Jaber Contracting; Ali & Sons Contracting Company; Al Fara'a General Contracting and Al Habtoor Group. 

Client has invited contractors to submit bids for the main construction package on this project. The tender will be conducted in two stages as the design is not yet fully completed. For the first stage, firms will submit offers for a design-and-build lump sum contract. For the second stage, short-listed contractors will submit bids using completed designs.
